
NIACC's Miller earns ICCAC weekly honor for 2nd time
MASON CITY - For the third time this season, a NIACC women's basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball Division II player of the week.
NIACC freshman Tori Miller, who is from Goodhue, Minn., earned the weekly honor for the week of Dec. 11-17. Miller also won the league's player of week honor for the week of Nov. 20-26.
NIACC freshman Madison Hillman was the league's player of the week for the week of Nov. 6-12.
Miller, a 5-foot-11 inch forward, shared the Dec. 11-17 women's basketball weekly award with Southwestern's Shyla Moore and Kirkwood's Jenna Twedt.
Miller recorded her third double/double in a 62-60 ICCAC road victory at Northeast CC on Dec. 16. She scored 23 points, collected 10 rebounds and also had one steal and one blocked shot.
Miller also had seven points, four assists and three rebounds in a 81-41 league win over Marshalltown CC on Dec. 13.
Miller is the Trojans' leading scorer with a 12.4 points per game average. She also leads the team averaging 7.1 rebounds per game, which is tied for seventh in the ICCAC.
Miller leads the Trojans with 52 assists and ranks third on the team with 23 steals.
NIACC (10-4 overall, 3-2 in the ICCAC) returns to action Jan. 3 with a home ICCAC contest against Ellsworth. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5:30 p.m.
