
NIACC women fall to DMACC, 72-60
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 72-60 decision to DMACC Saturday in the ICCAC opener for both teams in the NIACC gym.
DMACC (4-5) was led by Jaden Ainley with a career-high 31 points and 16 rebounds. Eviyon Richardson was also in double figures for the Bears with 14 points.
NIACC (7-3) was led by freshman guard Lilly Radcliffe with a career-high 27 points, including five 3-point goals. Radcliffe's previous career high was 11 points twice.
The 27 points by Radcliffe is the most by a NIACC player this season. The previous high point total by a Trojan this season was 26 points by freshman Tori Miller against the Graceland University Junior Varsity on Nov. 20.
Miller scored eight points with a career-high 17 rebounds.
The 17 rebounds by Miller was the most by a NIACC player since Alyssa Hames grabbed 17 rebounds against the William Penn junior varsity on Jan. 9, 2022.
NIACC freshman Madison Hillman scored eight points with four rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and one steal.
DMACC led 23-8 after the first quarter. NIACC outscored the Bears 20-15 in the second quarter to trim the halftime deficit to 38-29.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at Iowa Central. Game time in Fort Dodge is slated for 1 p.m.
