NIACC sweeps Southwestern, 3-0
CRESTON - The NIACC volleyball team swept Southwestern 3-0 on Sunday in an ICCAC contest.
NIACC won 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.
"The match was a great team effort with an increase of their mental focus," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We were very Impressed with how the team adapted to another lineup change as well as working on some new offensive options."
NIACC was led by freshman Grace Tobin with 13 kills, nine digs and two blocks. Becca Steffen had 25 assists, 10 digs, five kills, three ace serves and one block.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Bri Powers had nine digs, Emily Wittnebel had eight digs and Lexi Vance had three digs. Katelin Adams collected two kills and two blocks, Halsie Keltner had nine kills, 9 digs and three assists, Emily Jacobson had three kills, two digs and two blocks and Hannah Hanson had two kills and three blocks.
NIACC (7-6 overall, 7-6 in the ICCAC) returns to action Thursday at home against Kirkwood. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
