
NIACC's Tobin is league's player of week
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman outside hitter Grace Tobin was selected as the ICCAC Division II offensive volleyball player of the week for the week of Feb. 8-14.
Tobin, who is from Mason City, is the second NIACC player to earn the league's weekly award. NIACC's Becca Steffen earned the award for the week of Jan. 15-31.
During the week of Feb. 8-14, Tobin collected 52 kills as the Lady Trojans topped Iowa Lakes and Southeastern and fell to DMACC.
Against Southeastern, Tobin recorded 26 kills with 15 digs, a career-high five assists and two blocks. It was the third time this season that Tobin recorded at least 20 kills in a match.
Tobin currently ranks fourth in NJCAA Division II and first in the ICCAC with 122 kills.
NIACC (4-3 overall, 4-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Tuesday at No. 4 Iowa Central. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
