
NIACC women ranked 12th in final poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's cross country team is ranked 12th in the final USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II poll released on Wednesday.
Cowley College is ranked No. 1, Heartland CC is ranked No. 2 and Hawkeye CC is ranked No. 3.
NIACC, which was 11th in the Oct. 21 poll, will compete in the NJCAA Division II national meet in Fort Dodge on Nov. 14.
At the NJCAA Region XI Division II meet, NIACC freshman Sarah Bertry was the individual champion in a time of 19 minutes, 2 seconds on the 5-kilometer course. Also for the Lady Trojans, sophomore Whitney Martin was seventh in a season-best time of 21:58, freshman Addy Witt was ninth in a personal-best 22:31 and sophomore Lauren Kern was 10th in a personal-best 22:48.
