No. 6 NIACC women place 5th at Grand View Invite
ANKENY - The No. 6 (NJCAA Division II) NIACC women's cross country team placed fifth Friday at the Grand View Viking Invitational.
The Lady Trojans accumulated 103 team points. Iowa Central won the meet with 17 points.
Freshman Sarah Bertry led the Lady Trojans with a fourth-place finish in a time of 19 minutes, 40 seconds on the 5-kilometer course. Iowa Central's Eleonora Curtabbi won the race in a time of 18:47.
Also for NIACC, sophomore Whitney Martin was 24th (22:56), freshman Addy Witt was 30th (season-best 23:21), Lauren Kern was 32nd (23:40) and Ashley Kriener was 38th (24:31).
NIACC returns to action Sept. 25 at the Southwestern Spartan Classic in Creston.
