NIACC's Bertry earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman Sarah Bertry was selected as the ICCAC Division II cross country female athlete of the week for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 5 on Thursday.
Bertry, who is from France, placed third at the Grand View Open last Saturday in Ankeny.
Bertry, who is from France, covered the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 12 seconds, which is the fourth fastest 5K time in school history.
NIACC placed fourth in the team standings with 122 points at last Saturday's season-opening meet.
The NIACC women, who are ranked sixth in the NJCAA Division II poll, return to action Friday at the Grand View Viking Invitational.
