NIACC's Bertry takes second at Indian Hills Invitational
OTTUMWA – It was a record-setting afternoon for Sarah Bertry on Friday at Cedar Creek Golf Course for the NIACC women's cross country team.
The freshman from France shattered her personal-best time of by over 40 seconds, finishing second at the Indian Hills Invitational in a time of 18 minutes, 26.5 seconds. Iowa Western's Faith Chepengat won in a time of 17:10.9.
Bertry's time was the third-best in school history behind Hannah Palmeter's 17:51 in 2014 and Anna Buenneke's 18:15 in 2011. She was the only NIACC women's runner to compete in the 5-kilometer race.
