NIACC's Bertry earns pair of national honors
MASON CITY - The honors keep coming in for NIACC's Sarah Bertry.
On Wednesday, Bertry, a freshman from France, was selected as the NJCAA Division II women's cross country athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 21-27.
On Tuesday, she received the USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II female cross country weekly honor and was the ICCAC women's cross country NJCAA Division II female athlete of the week.
Bertry is the first NIACC women's runner to win the USTFCCA national weekly honor.
Last Friday, Bertry won the Southwestern Spartan Classic in a time of 19 minutes, 39 seconds. She was the first NIACC runner to win a race since Hannah Palmeter won the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee Invitational in 2014.
