NIACC volleyball team returns to action

WEST BURLINGTON - The NIACC volleyball team returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Jimmy John's Invitational hosted by Southeastern CC.

NIACC (4-0 overall) faces Kansas City (Kan.) CC at 4 p.m. Friday and plays the Graceland University Junior Varsity at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, the Lady Trojans play the St. Ambrose Junior Varsity at 8 a.m. and Marshalltown CC at noon.

NIACC was 3-1 at last season's Jimmy John's Invitational. The Lady Trojans lost to Kansas City CC (3-1) and topped East Central College (3-1), Nassau CC (3-0) and Carl Sandburg College (3-1).

NIACC opened the 2019 season Aug. 23-24 with four victories at the McHenry County CC Invitational in Illinois.

Notes: NIACC coach Chris Brandt is 0-1 against Kansas City CC, 3-1 vs. the Graceland University JV, and 4-11 vs. Marshalltown CC.
