NIACC sweeps DCTC, 3-0
MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team swept DCTC 3-0 in a non-conference volleyball match Friday night in the NIACC gym.
NIACC won 25-21, 25-16, 25-17.
"We are glad the team had a chance to work on offensive plays during this match," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "It wasn't always perfect ball, but we needed the opportunity to work on things."
Sophomore Kennedy Meister led the Lady Trojans (11-4 overall) with 16 kills and 12 digs. Freshman Becca Steffen had 16 assists, four ace serves, eight digs and two blocks.
Also for NIACC, Bri Powers had five digs, Tessa Sienknecht had eight assists, Kayla Lentz had 12 digs, Shelby Heston had five digs and Alexa Loftus had five kills. Hannah Hanson had two blocks, Taylor Gerdes had two kills and Braylee Wood had two kills and two blocks.
NIACC returns to action Saturday with a pair of home matches. The Lady Trojans play Marshalltown CC at 2 p.m. and face the Central College Junior Varsity at 5 p.m.
