
NIACC's Meister earns ICCAC POW honor
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore outside hitter Kennedy Meister was selected as the ICCAC co-offensive volleyball player of the week for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
Meister shared the award with Southeastern's outdide hitter Rachel Bingham.
Meister posted 11 kills with 20 digs and seven ace serves in the Lady Trojans' 3-1 win over No. 14 Kirkwood. It was the first time in school history that NIACC topped Kirkwood in volleyball.
Meister collected 49 kills in five matches last week. She ranks fourth in the ICCAC with 353 kills.
Meister has 761 career kills, which ranks third on the school's career list. Casey Spree (1998-99) ranks second with 766 career kills.
Meister also ranks fourth on school's career digs list with 923.
No. 20 NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Northeast CC in an ICCAC match that starts at 7 p.m.
