NIACC women roll past DMACC, 74-51
BOONE - The NIACC women's basketballt team cruised to a 74-51 victory over DMACC Thursday night in an ICCAC contest.
NIACC led 15-9 after the first quarter and took a 31-14 lead into the halftime break.
The Trojans led 63-29 after the third quarter.
Nora Francois led the Trojans with 16 points, including four three-point goals. Jackie Pippett was also in double figures for the Trojans with 11 points.
NIACC also received eight points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds from freshman point guard Audrey Martinez-Stewart. The 13 assists is the most in a game by a NIACC women's player since Kelcie Hale dished out 12 assists against Little Priest Tribal College on Feb. 26, 2020.
The 13 assists is also tied for fourth most in a single game in NIACC women's basketball history.
NIACC (17-8 overall, 8-8 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday at home against Southwestern in an ICCAC contest. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 1 p.m.
