NIACC women roll past Ellsworth, 94-53
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 94-53 victory over Ellsworth Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC scored at least 25 points in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding lead. The Trojans scored 27 points in the first quarter, 25 points in the second quarter and 30 points in the third quarter.
NIACC (15-8 overall, 6-8 in the ICCAC) placed six players in double figures, including a team-high 16 points by Alyssa Hames. The Trojans received 15 points each from Amaya Doree and Nora Francois.
Also in double figures for the Trojans were Jackie Pippett with 11 points. Kourtney Manning and Audrey Martinez-Stewart both scored with 10 points.
Hames also contributed seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Martinez-Stewart also collected six steals and three rebounds and Chelsey Holck, who scored seven points, grabbed nine rebounds.
Ellsworth (3-21, 1-14) was led by Alyssa Civitak with a game-high 19 points.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at Marshalltown CC in an ICCAC contest.
