NIACC rolls past William Penn JV, 85-47
MASON CITY - On her 19th birthday, freshman Jackie Pippett scored a career-high 27 points to lead the NIACC women's basketball team to a 85-47 victory over the William Penn University Junior Varsity Sunday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
Pippett, who is from Ankeny, also dished out four assists, blocked two shots and collected one steal.
NIACC also received a pair of double/doubles from Alyssa Hames and Audrey Martinez-Stewart. Hames scored 18 points with 17 rebounds and Martinez-Stewart scored 13 points with 12 rebounds.
NIACC collected a season-high 80 rebounds in Sunday's non-conference win. The Trojans had 26 offensive rebounds and 54 defensive rebounds.
NIACC (10-4 overall, 2-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at Iowa Lakes i(11-5, 5-1) n a league contest. Game time in Estherville is slated for 5:30 p.m.
