NIACC women cruise, 101-76
WORTHINGTON, Minn. - The NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 101-76 victory over Minnesota West Community and Technical College Thursday at the Minnesota West Classic.
NIACC (8-2 overall) led 50-29 at the half and the Trojans increased their lead to 84-63 after three quarters.
The 101 points by NIACC was the most by the Trojans this season. The previous high this season by the Trojans came in a 95-67 victory over Marshalltown CC on Dec. 11.
It was the first time a NIACC women's team has scored 100 points in a game since the Trojans stopped Little Priest Tribal College 116-36 on March 4, 2020.
NIACC was led by Alyssa Hames with a career-high 20 points, six rebounds and two steals. Nora Francois scored 16 points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in her first collegiate game.
Also for the Trojans, Audrey Martinez-Stewart scored 14 points and collected six steals. Raven Kinnetz scored 13 points and I'sis Brown scored a career-high 10 points.
NIACC returns to action Friday against the Gustavus Adolphus College Junior Varsity at noon on Friday.
