NIACC's Pippett earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY – For the third time this season, a NIACC women's basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC Division II player of the week.
NIACC's Jackie Pippett earned the weekly honor for the week of Jan. 3-9.
NIACC's Ziyannah Conner earned the honor for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5 and Alyssa Hames was the weekly winner for the week of Dec. 6-12.
Pippett scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in NIACC's 67-65 loss to No. 20 Iowa Central on Jan. 5 in Fort Dodge. The freshman from Ankeny scored a career high 27 points with nine rebounds on her 19th birthday on Jan. 9.
Pippett averages 10.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting 87 percent (47 of 54) from the free-throw line.
NIACC (10-4 overall, 2-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at Iowa Lakes (11-5, 5-1). Game time in Estherville is slated for 5:30 p.m.
