Ciochetto selected as World Exposure Report coach of year
NIACC's Todd Ciochetto has been selected as the World Exposure Report NJCAA Division II women's basketball coach of the year.
Ciochetto guided the Lady Trojans to an overall record of 32-1 in the 2019-20 season. The Lady Trojans were a perfect 16-0 in the ICCAC and claimed the NJCAA Region XI tournament title with a convincing win (95-73) over rival Kirkwood.
NIACC was the top seed for the NJCAA Division II national tournament in Port Huron, Mich. The tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.
Ciochetto was selected as the 2019-20 ICCAC women's basketball coach of the year.
Ciochetto finished his sixth season as head coach at NIACC with a record of 153-46. Ciochetto's teams have won NJCAA Region XI titles in 2016, 2019 and 2020.
NIACC was 25-6 in Ciochetto's first season and the Lady Trojans advanced to the NJCAA Region XI title game in the 2014-15 season.
NIACC was 23-12 and qualified for the NJCAA Division II national tournament in the 2015-16 season where the Lady Trojans went 1-2. Ciochetto was selected as the 2015-16 NJCAA District E coach of the year.
NIACC was 19-13 in the 2017-18 season and advanced to the NJCAA Region XI title game before falling to eventual NJCAA Division II national champion Kirkwood.
NIACC was 26-7 overall in the 2018-19 season. The Lady Trojans shared the regular season ICCAC title with Kirkwood and topped the Eagles 77-70 in the regional title game to advance to the national tournament. Ciochetto was selected as the 2018-19 NJCAA Region XI coach of the year.
NIACC was fourth in NJCAA Division II for total points (2,971) and ranked sixth in points per game (90.0).
