NIACC women move up to 5th in latest poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team moved up a spot to fifth in the NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.
NIACC was ranked sixth in the Jan. 6 poll. It is the 34th straight poll that the NIACC women (16-1 overall, 3-0 in ICCAC) have been ranked in dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season.
Kirkwood (16-1) remained No. 1 in this week's poll. Kansas City (Kan.) CC (15-1) is ranked second and Lincoln Land (16-1) is ranked third.
NIACC topped Little Priest Tribal College 112-35 and stopped DMACC 77-62 in a pair of ICCAC contests last week.
NIACC and Kirkwood meet in their ICCAC contests on Jan. 29 (at Cedar Rapids) and Feb. 22 (at Mason City).
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Lakes in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
