No. 5 NIACC tops Iowa Lakes, 84-69
MASON CITY - Sophomore Autam Mendez scored 31 points with 12 rebounds and a career-high seven assists to lift No. 5 NIACC to a 84-69 victory over Iowa Lakes in ICCAC women's basketball action Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.
Mendez was 11 of 31 from the field, including six 3-point goals. She also dished out four assists. It was Mendez' fourth double/double of the season and 12th of her career.
Also for NIACC, which won its 25th straight home game, Sierra Lynch scored 17 points and Kelcie Hale scored 13 points.
NIACC (17-1 overall, 4-0 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday at Ellsworth. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
Notes: NIACC is 7-0 at home in the 2019-20 season ... The Lady Trojans were 15-0 at home in 2018-19 and won their last three home games in 2017-18 ... NIACC has won 21 straight games against Iowa Lakes.
