CRESTON - The NIACC men's basketball team's season came to a close Friday night with a 82-71 loss to Iowa Central in the first round of the NJCAA Region 11 tournament on the Southwestern CC campus.
Iowa Central advances to play top-seed DMACC in the second round at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Iowa Central trailed 43-32 at the half but outscored the Trojans 49-28 in the second 20 minutes to move on in the regional tournament.
Iowa Central was led by Miles Fant with a game-high 30 points.
NIACC (9-21) was led by freshman Adam Hackett with 15 points and five rebounds. Omarion Roberts scored 14 points and Wyatt Helming scored 12 points.
Helming paced the Trojans with nine rebounds.
