NIACC men fall to No. 4 DMACC
- Brown leads Trojans with 20 points
- NIACC begins regional tournament play Friday
BOONE - The NIACC men's basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a 121-77 loss to No. 4 DMACC Wednesday evening on the DMACC campus.
DMACC, the ICCAC regular season champion, led 52-38 at the half. The Bears outscored the Trojans 63-45 in the second 20 minutes.
DMACC (27-3 overall, 16-2 in the ICCAC) was led by James Glenn, who scored 20 points off the bench. The Bears' Angelo Winkel scored 17 points and collected eight rebounds.
NIACC (9-20, 3-15) was led by freshman Jordan Brown with 20 points. Freshman Adam Hackett was next in line for the Trojans with 13 points.
Also for the Trojans, Omarion Roberts and Brayden Drea both scored 10 points. Drea, who connected on two 3-point goals, also had three steals.
NIACC's James Jennings scored nine points and Wyatt Helming scored seven points and led the Trojans with six rebounds.
Eight-seed NIACC opens NJCAA Region 11 tournament play Friday against ninth-seed Iowa Central in a first-round contest. Game time on the Southwestern CC campus in Creston is slated for 7 p.m.
The winner of the NIACC/Iowa Central game faces top-seed DMACC at 5 p.m. Saturday in the regional quarterfinals.
