No. 16 NIACC women top MCC-Penn Valley, 87-73

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — No. 16 (NJCAA Divsion II) NIACC had four players score in double figures Friday as it worked past MCC-Penn Valley 87-73.
Taylor Laabs paced the Lady Trojans with 19 points, Kelsie Willert scored 18, Khalilah Holloway had 15 and Morgan Cuffe finished with 14.
"We're just playing better basketball right now," NIACC coach Todd Ciochetto said. "We had some kids stepping up but we're still not there yet. It will be a good test (today vs. No. 5 Johnson County) and we'll see where we're at."
Also for the Lady Trojans (6-4), Hattie Davidson had six, Riley Galvin scored five, Marci Wolters had three and UU Longs added two.
