Rush to join NIACC women's basketball staff
MASON CITY - Former NIACC standout Cortni Rush will join the NIACC women's basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
Rush, who recently completed her college career at Drake University, played at NIACC in the 2013-14 season and helped lead NIACC to a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
The Lady Trojans were 34-3 in the 2013-14 season, which is a school record for wins.
Rush averaged 14.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during her lone season in a NIACC uniform.
Rush scored 521 points (9th on school's single-season list), grabbed 238 rebounds (15th on school's single-season list) and made 84 3-point goals (4th on school's single-season list).
Rush was a first-team NJCAA Region XI selection and was a third-team NJCAA Division II all-American.
After her season at NIACC, Rush played three seasons at Drake, including a trip to the NCAA tournament in her senior season.
