ROSEMOUNT, Minn. — The NIACC offense stayed hot Thursday, lifting it to a sweep of Dakota County Technical College at the Rosemount Dome. The Lady Trojans won 9-7 and 12-4 in five innings.
In the opener, Allison Scott clubbed two home runs and narrowly missed a third, resulting in a double. She finished with a team-best four RBIs.
"She's having a great approach and is trusting what she's working on," NIACC coach Christi Weiser said.
Katie LaBuda added three hits and drove in three runs and Kendall Cornick and Sara Tefft each had a pair of hits.
In Game 2, after allowing two runs in each of the first two innings, pitcher Sara Steinman settled in to not allow a run the rest of the way. She was backed up by 12 runs from the Lady Trojan offense.
"She needed to make an adjustment and she came out and pitched lights out," Weiser said.
Tricia Notermann had a pair of doubles and a single in the win, LaBuda drove in three more runs and Kendall Cornick added 3 RBIs herself.
NIACC (6-2) is back at the Rosemount Dome today for a doubleheader vs. Wiliston State College.
