IOWA FALLS - It was a day of milestones for the NIACC softball team. There were a couple of victories, too.
Allison Scott recorded her 100th-career hit and Tricia Notermann set the school mark for doubles Sunday as NIACC took 2 of 3 from Ellsworth.
In the completion of a suspended game, the Lady Trojans earned a 10-6 win before falling 4-2. NIACC closed the day with a 5-1 win behind a 10-strikeout performance from Lexy Pederson.
Notermann, who sits at 31 career doubles after a pair on Sunday, had five hits on the afternoon. Scott, who also had a pair of doubles, had a four-hit game in the 10-6 win and had three more in the 5-1 victory. She is the 10th player in school history to reach the 100-hit mark.
"They were the catalysts and they have been," NIACC coach Christi Weiser said. "We are a really good offensive team when Allison and Tricia have great at-bats. They've done this a ton in their careers.
Sara Steinman gained the win in the circle in the opener, fanning six. Katie LaBuda only allowed one earned run in the loss before Pederson tossed a 5-hitter in the nightcap.
NIACC (16-23, 7-12) concludes the home portion of its schedule Wednesday vs. Kirkwood.
