COLUMBUS, Neb. — The NIACC softball team found itself in a pair of slugfests on Wednesday, beating Northeast (Nebraska) 12-10 and dropping the nightcap 13-12.
The Lady Trojans combined for 39 hits in the doubleheader, including a 7 for 7 day from Katie LaBuda, a pair of home runs from Tricia Notermann and at least five hits from Lexy Pederson, Becca Huberty and Sara Tefft.
"You'd like to think if you put up 39 hits you'd have two victories," NIACC coach Christi Weiser said. "We squared the ball up left and right. The problem was they were a great hitting team as well and they hit the ball out of the park. They kind of neutralized a great offensive day by us."
