MARSHALLTOWN - For the third time this season, the NIACC women's soccer team scored at least nine goals in a match in the Trojans' 9-0 victory Saturday over Marshalltown CC.
NIACC (5-5-2 overall, 3-3 in the ICCAC) also this season scored 10 goals in a 10-0 win over Scott CC and nine goals in a 9-0 win over Northwest CC. The nine goals on Saturday is tied for the second most in a match in school history.
NIACC's Maya Gildroy recorded a hat trick and also dished out two assists.
Also for the Trojans, Emmalyse Bordignon and Carris Powell both scored two goals. Powell also had an assist.
The Trojans other two goals came from Karly Holm and Allison Brandt. Iola VanHaren had two assists while Chloe Chavez, Simone Loga and Holm also had assists.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against eighth-ranked Iowa Lakes (10-5, 4-2).
