MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-0 victory Saturday against Central CC-Columbus on the NIACC campus.
NIACC (1-1 overall) led 1-0 at the half and scored three goals in the second 45 minutes to claim the non-league victory.
NIACC received two goals and an assist from sophomore Karly Holm. The Trojans also received goals from Emmalyse Bordignon and Ikram Zarrouk.
Holm opened the scoring for the Trojans with a goal in the second minute. Holm also added scored in the 60th minute on an assist from Bordignon.
Bordignon scored on an assist from Holm to open the second-half scoring for the Trojans in the 56th minute. Zarrouk scored on an unassisted goal in the 88th minute.
Nadia Kaiser picked up the shutout in goal for the Trojans stopping nine shots on goal.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in a non-league contest at Iowa Lakes. Match time in Spencer is slated for 6:30 p.m.
