NIACC men win 3 events at Friday Knight Lights
- James, Ellis, Vais win individual events
- Massa places 2nd in 600, 4th in long jump

WAVERLY - The NIACC men's track and field team won three events at Wartburg College's Friday Knight Lights indoor meet on the Wartburg campus.
NIACC gained wins from Tyreese James in the 200-meter dash (22.69 seconds), Quinton Ellis in the 600-meter dash (1:24.10) and Jacob Vais in the 1,000-meter run (2:33.30).
Vais, a sophomore from Charles City, qualified for the NJCAA indoor national track and field meet with his 2:33.30 in the 1,000. Vais also has qualified for the national meet in the 800.
James also placed third in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.99.
James' times in the 60 (6.99) ranks fifth on the school's all-time 60 list and his time in the 200 (22.69) ranks seventh on the school's indoor 200 list. Vais' time in the 1,000 ranks third on NIACC's all-time list.
Ellis' time in the 600 (1:24.10) ranks seventh on the school's all-time 600 list.
NIACC's Hugo Massa placed second in the 600 in a time of 1:24.18 and was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.72 meters.
In the 400, NIACC's Demario Cleare was eighth in a time of 53.72 and Giorgio Dalzini was 10th in 58.24.
In the shot put, NIACC's Rodney Ngezimani placed ninth with a toss of 11.19 meters.
NIACC's Cleare, Bruce Huggins, Terrence Thomas and James placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:30.91.
