NIACC's Thomas wins ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY – NIACC freshman Terrence Thomas was selected as the ICCAC track and field male athlete of the week for the week of April 15-21.
Thomas won the long jump (7.00 meters) and placed second in the triple jump (12.48 meters) at the Mount Mercy DeBacker Invitational in Cedar Rapids on April 20.
The victory in the long jump was the fourth of the outdoor season for Thomas. He also claimed long jump titles at the Emporia State Relays, the Wartburg Select meet and the Jim Duncan Invitational.
Thomas is the school record holder in the outdoor long jump with a leap of 7.40 meters at the Jim Duncan Invitational on April 12 and the triple jump with a jump of 14.56 meters at the Emporia State Relays on March 28.
Thomas was also selected as the ICCAC track and field athlete of the week for the week of Jan. 15-21 during the indoor track and field season.
