NIACC's Leum, Oh earn first-team all-region honors

MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team landed two players on the all-NJCAA Region XI first team.

Earning first-team all-region honors for the Trojans were sophomore pitcher Michael Oh and sophomore first baseman Fox Leum.

It is the ninth straight season that the Trojans have had at least one first-team all-region selection.

Also for the Trojans, sophomore outfielde Ben Fitzgerald and freshman outfielder Will Sturek were honorable mention all-region selections.

In league play, Oh was 4-0 with a 2.28 earned run average with 43 strikeouts in 40 innings.

Leum led the ICCAC in home runs with 10 and drove in 27 runs in league games. Leum leads NJCAA Division II with 24 home runs.

Fitzgerald hit .319 in league games with eight doubles, five home runs and 19 RBIs. Sturek hit .258 in league games with nine home runs and 21 RBIs.
