NIACC blanks Luther JV in Autism Awareness game

MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team wrapped up its regular season with a 11-0 seven-inning victory over the Luther College Junior Varsity in the third annual Autism Awareness game at Roosevelt Field.
Over $3,000 was raised in auctioning off the game-worn Autism Awareness jerseys.
NIACC received two home runs from Fox Leum and one from Ben Fitzgerald in Monday's win. Leum was 2 for 3 with five RBIs and Fitzgerald was 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
Leum has 33 career home runs, which is tied for first with Robbie Glendinning (2015-16) for first on the school's career home run list with 33. Leum has 24 home runs this season, which leads the NJCAA Division II and is second on the school's all-time single season list.
NIACC begins play at the NJCAA Region XI tournament at 3 p.m. Thursday against Southeastern in Clinton.
