NIACC women place third at Dick Young Invite
GRINNELL - The NIACC women's track and field team placed third at Grinnell's Dick Young Invitational on Saturday with 99 team points.
Host Grinnell was the team champion with 158 points and Graceland was second with 105 points.
NIACC picked up first-place finishes from Brenna Paulson in the hammer thorw (128 feet, 7 inches) and Halsie Keltner was first in the javelin with a personal best toss of 113-10.
Also in the hammer, NIACC's Madelyn Wilson was second with a personal-best toss of 108-11 and Keltner was fifth with a personal-best throw of 100-11.
Paulson was fifth in the discus (111-3) and fifth in the javelin (89-3). Keltner was eighth in the discus (111-3).
NIACC's Katyrra Peck was second in the 100 in a time of 13.32 seconds, second in the long jump (15-10 1/4) and fourth in the 200 (27.68).
NIACC's Lynn Hoeft was third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.94( and eighth in the 200 (28.77). The Trojans' Jordan Swenson was fourth in the high jump (5-0 3/4) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (18.87).
NIACC's Lilly Stockberger placed fith in the 1,500 (6:01.24) and Calista Polk was sixth in the high jump (4-8 1/4).
NIACC placed second in the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 55.78 running Peck, Polk, Talia Schon and Hoeft.
