NIACC picks up 3 second-place finishes at Mustang Open
MOUNT VERNON - The NIACC women's track and field team picked up three second-place finishes and placed fifth at the Mount Mercy Mustang Open Saturday.
The Trojans earned their fifth-place finish with 49 points. Host Mount Mercy was the team champion with 189 points, Grinnell was second with 236 and Hawkeye CC was third with 89.
Earning second-place finishes for the Trojans were Lynn Hoeft in the 100 hurdles in a time of 17.06 seconds, Jordan Swenson in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch) and Katyrra Peck in the long jump (16-5).
Also for the Trojans, Brenna Paulson was third in the discus (111-5) and Peck was fourth in the 100 (13.29).
In the javelin, NIACC's Halsie Keltner was fourth (101-5).
In the 100 hurdles, Swenson was fifth (19.10).
In the 200, Peck was fifth (27.33).
In the high jump, Hoeft was eighth (4-1 1/4).
