MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team blanked Marshalltown CC 9-0 Wednesday afternoon in its final regular season contest.
Freshman Karly Holm scored four goals to lead the Trojans, who improved their overall record to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the ICCAC.
The seven wins ties the women's school record for wins in a season. In the 2021 spring season, the Trojans were 7-8 and the Trojans were 7-8-2 in the 2022 season.
The nine goals on Wednesday set a school record for goals in a match. The Trojans had scored eight goals in a match three times.
Sophomore Alina Turtschan had four assists for the Trojans.
Also scoring goals for the Trojans were keeper Jada Westover on a penalty kick, Amalia Briseno, Gabriela Medeiros, Natalia Mora and Simone Loga.
Fifth-seed NIACC opens NJCAA Region 11 Division II play Saturday at fourth-seed Iowa Lakes. Match time is slated for 3 p.m. in Spencer.
