MARSHALLTOWN - The NIACC women's soccer team, under first-year coach Todd Alberts, picked up its first win of the season with a 7-0 victory over Marshalltown CC on Saturday.
NIACC (1-3 overall) led 4-0 at the half and added three goals in the second 45 minutes.
Freshman Karly Holm led the Trojans with a hat trick. The Trojans' Amalia Briseno scored two goals and Vanessa Boge and Gabriella Medeiros both scored a goal.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at Southeastern CC in a non-league contest. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
NIACC begins ICCAC play Saturday, Sept. 16 at Northeast CC in a match starting at 1 p.m.
