MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Hawkeye CC Wednesday afternoon on the NIACC campus in a non-conference contest.
Hawkeye CC led 1-0 at the half and added two insurance goals in the second half.
NIACC's lone goal game off the foot of sophomore Amalia Briseno on a penalty kick with 3:34 remaining in the contest. It was Briseno's fifth career goal.
The Trojans will play an ICCAC match at Hawkeye CC in Waterloo on Sept. 27.
NIACC (0-1) returns to action Sunday in a non-league match at Iowa Central. The match is slated to start at 11 a.m.
