CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 86-63 decision to No. 4 Kirkwood Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
Kirkwood (21-2 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC) led 43-24 at the half and outscored the Trojans 43-39 in the second half to claim the 23-point league victory.
Kirkwood put four players in double figures in Saturday's contest. Tate Petersen led the Eagles with 13 points, Traijan Sain scored 12 oints and James Spencer and Richard Lindsey both scored 11 points.
NIACC (15-8, 7-6) was led by Randy McClendon, who came off the bench to score 19 points. Zion Wright, who also came off the bench, scored 18 points.
Wright also had six rebounds and three steals. Adam Hackett grabbed five rebounds for the Trojans.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Western Iowa Tech in an ICCAC contest. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
