Trojans fall to Northeast CC, 74-69
MASON CITY - The No. 20 NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 74-69 decision to Northeast CC Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Northeast CC, which trailed 35-31 at the half, outscored the Trojans 43-34 in the second 20 minutes to claim the 5-point road victory. Vincent Garrett led the Hawks with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Also for the Hawks (4-14 overall, 1-10 in the ICCAC), Bryson Faines scored 14 points with 14 rebounds.
NIACC was led by sophomore Adam Hackett with 23 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Omarion Roberts scored 13 points with nine rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Brayden Drea scored 11 points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
NIACC (14-7, 6-5) returns to action Wednesday at home against No. 12 Ellsworth. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
