NIACC's Roberts earns ICCAC player of week honors
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore guard Omarion Roberts was selected as the ICCAC Division II men's basketball player of the week for the week of Nov. 25-Dec. 1.
Roberts, who is from Silvis, Ill., scored 27 points with five assists, five rebounds and one steal in the Trojans' 90-85 upset victory over then No. 9 Ellsworth in the ICCAC opener for both teams on Nov. 30.
Roberts is averaging 20.3 points per game this season and leads all ICCAC Division II players with 47 assists. He also sits second in the league in steals with 26.
Roberts is the first NIACC player to win the league's player of the week honor since Wyatt Helming won the award for the week of Nov. 20-26, 2023.
NIACC (8-2 overall, 1-0 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Lakes in an ICCAC contest. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
