QUINCY, Ill. - The NIACC men's soccer team blanked John Wood CC 7-0 Saturday in a non-conference contest to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Trojans are off to a 5-0 start for the first time since the 2008 season when they started 8-0. The Trojans have outscored their opponents 22-1 in their five matches this season.
In Saturday's 7-goal victory, the Trojans received a hat trcik and an assist from Pablo Salas. Joao Gabriel scored two goals and added an assist
Harry Twinn and Maximiliian Torres-Sarabia also scored for the Trojans. NIACC's Javier Calderon and Victor Hugo Januario both had assists.
Edoardo Alessandrini (4-0) picked up the shutout in goal for the Trojans. It was Alessandrini's third shutout of the season.
NIACC returns to action next Saturday at home against DCTC. The match on the NIACC campus starts at 1 p.m.
