NIACC's Soares, Nolan-Morgan earn ICCAC POW honors
MASON CITY – Two members of the NIACC men's soccer team earned ICCAC Division II player of the week honors for the week of Oct. 18-24.
NIACC midfielder Giovani Soares was the player of the week and Levi Nolan-Morgan was the keeper of the week.
In three games last week, Soares scored three goals with four assists to help the Trojans to three wins, including a 6-0 win over DCTC on Sunday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI Division II tournament.
Against DCTC, Soares scored two goals with an assist. Soares leads the Trojans with six goals and five assists.
Nolan-Morgan allowed one goal in three matches last week. He posted a pair of shutouts against Scott CC and DCTC. Nolan-Morgan has 74 saves this season heading into Wednesday's regional tournament semifinal match against Southeastern.
