NIACC opens season today at home
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's soccer team opens the 2021 season at home Sunday against St. Louis Community College on the NIACC campus.
Match time is set for 1 p.m.
NIACC held pre-season scrimmages against Waldorf University and Upper Iowa University in preparation for the 2021 campaign.
St. Louis CC dropped a 6-1 decision to Iowa Central on Saturday in Fort Dodge in its season opener.
NIACC was 6-9 in the 2021 spring season under coach Graham Lynch. The Trojans topped Scott CC 4-1 in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI Division II tournament before bowing out with a 4-1 loss to eventual national champion Southeastern in the regional semifinals.
Notes: This will be the first-ever men's soccer match between NIACC and St. Louis CC ... NIACC is 9-9-2 in season openers ... The Trojans dropped a 2-1 overtime to decision to Marshalltown CC in their 2021 spring season opener.
