EUNICE, La. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 11-1 decision in eight innings to No. 4 (NJCAA Division I) LSU-Eunice on Sunday as the Bengals completed a 3-game sweep in the non-conference series.
LSU-Eunice (26-1) has won 14 straight contests.
In Sunday's series' finale, the Bengals scored three runs in the third inning, two runs in the sixth inning, four runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth frame.
NIACC scored its lone run in the sixth inning on an RBI from George McIntyre.
NIACC leadoff hitter Payton Fort was 2 for 4 and scored a run.
NIACC (7-12) opens ICCAC play on Tuesday at No. 17 (NJCAA Division II) Kirkwood. The doubleheader in Cedar Rapids is slated to start at 1 p.m.
