EUNICE, La. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 13-3 decision in seven inning to No. 4 (NJCAA Division I) LSU-Eunice on Saturday afternoon.
LSU-Eunice (25-1) scored five runs in the first inning. The Bengals, who have won 13 straight games, added a single run in the fourth inning, three runs in the fifth inning and two runs each in their final two at-bats.
NIACC pushed across two runs in the first frame and added a single run in the sixth inning.
NIACC leadoff hitter Payton Fort was 2 for 4 and scored a run. Fort also stole two bases.
Lincoln Becker, George McIntyre and Jack McDonough also collected hits for the Trojans.
NIACC (7-11) wraps up its 3-game series with LSU-Eunice with a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Trojans open ICCAC play Wednesday in a doubleheader at No. 17 (NJCAA Division II) Kirkwood.
