
NIACC's Church, Kenworthy gain wins
FORT DODGE - NIACC's Isaac Church and Xander Kenworthy picked up wins in Wednesday's ICCAC dual meet against Iowa Central.
Church, who is ranked fifth in the first NJCAA rankings, gained a 17-3 major decision over the Tritons' Ben Fosdick at 141 pounds. Kenworthy stopped the Tritons' Cooper Colson 8-4 at 197 pounds.
No. 11 Iowa Central won the dual over the 17th-ranked Trojans, 41-7.
Church, who won the Simpson College Luther Hill Invite freshman/sophomore division last Saturday, improved his record to 5-0 1 fall, 1 technical fall, 2 major decisions. Church now has a career record of 24-8.
Kenworthy, who was third at 197 pounds at the Luther Hill Invite, moved his 2023-24 record to 6-1.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Luther College Open in Decorah.
