NIACC falls to Wartburg JV, 3-1
WAVERLY - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision the Wartburg College Junior Varsity on Monday.
The Knights won 25-9, 25-23, 24-26, 25-10.
"We definitely need to continue to minimize our errors and play for each other," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We did start to fight for each other in the third set but we need to sustain that energy and start that work sooner in the match."
Freshman Shelby Heston led the Lady Trojans with 11 kills and 10 digs. Freshman Hannah Wagner had nine kills, 12 digs and two blocks.
Also for NIACC, Amanda Borden had nine digs, three blocks and two ace serves, Sammi Hyde had 11 digs, Sydney Roush had 24 assists and 10 digs, Brooke Greenwood had two kills and two blocks and Becca Konz had five kills.
NIACC (4-13 overall, 0-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action at home Wednesday in an ICCAC match against Northeast CC. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
