NIACC stops Viterbo JV on Think Pink NIght
MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team wrapped up its regular season with a 3-1 win over the Viterbo University Junior Varsity on Think Pink night in the NIACC gym.
NIACC won 25-20,, 25-12, 25-27, 25-23.
"Think Pink is always a fun night and more importantly, the night is more than just the game," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We didn't play as well as we wanted but did enough to win the match.
"We will have a couple days off to rest our bodies and then we get ready for regionals."
Freshman Hannah Wagner led the Lady Trojans with 16 kills, 11 digs and three blocks. Sophomore Brooke Greenwood had 11 kills and seven blocks and Amanda Borden had seven kills, 13 digs six blocks and three ace serves.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Kyra Marquez had 11 digs and two ace serves, Connor Gauch had 12 digs, Sammi Hyde had 20 digs, Shelby Heston had 22 digs and seven kills, Sydney Roush had 37 assists, eight digs and five kills and Becca Konz had six kills and three blocks.
NIACC opens play in the NJCAA Region XI-A tournament on Wednesday at Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
