
NIACC's Bertry wins pair of USTFCCCA awards
MASON CITY - The awards keep coming in for NIACC's Sarah Bertry.
Bertry, who won the NJCAA Division II individual national title last Saturday in Richmond, Va., was selected as the USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II national women's athlete of the year. At the national meet, Bertry became NIACC's first-ever women's national cross country champion.
Bertry also earned USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II all-American honors for her performance at the national meet. It was the second straight season that Bertry earned USTFCCCA all-American honors.
Also, Bertry was selected as the 2021 USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II Midwest Region women's athlete of the year. Bertry won the NJCAA Region XI Division II race for the second straight season, won the Trent Smith Invitational and was second at the Indian Hills Invitational.
